April 2019
April 2019……..
In between the cleansing showers of April, is the glorious warming sun-shine, beckoning us go outside and enjoy all of nature that is blooming and coming alive again. It is definitely time to be out of doors….to breathe fresh breath and reinvigorate your soul…your life…with the smells and sense of springtime. It’s time to work in the garden, turning over the earth, discovering a new peacefulness –time to sweep away the cobwebs from our homes (and our minds?) to feel a sense of calming accomplishment – as we move through the days with ease, purpose and new vigor. From now until Midsummer Solstice, the days will lengthen as the Sun returns, bringing increased strength and warmth. Set new goals and new intentions as the days get longer and the nights get shorter and feel the fertility in this growing period. April is a fresh breeze that brings hope and possibilities – so throw open the windows and enjoy the smell of lilacs budding on the trees, the birds singing and the bees beginning to buzz again.
Personally, I will be 'invigorating' my creativity and focus with a short 'mini-vacation' for a few days with my husband. When our lives get overloaded and our passions become more like 'tasks'.... it's time to take a mini break and just enjoy life. In order not to 'burn out' from classes I teach at the YMCA, and guests we host at our Bed & Breakfast.... I've decided to give myself a "time out", and breathe in some springtime. Sometimes when we push ourselves to the point that we no longer look forward to getting up and going out each day--then it's definitely time to take a break and rejuvenate the soul....and allow ourselves to find some creativity in just being present. I will only be gone for 3 days from teaching classes at the YMCA (Mon/4/15 - Wed/4-17) returning on Thursday the 18th... please be kind to the substitute teacher and feel blessed to have a change of pace.
